Erin Kimsey - President
Ms. Kimsey is a 2004 graduate of the School of Arts and Architecture with a Bachelors of Landscape Architecture. Ms. Kimsey has been a member of PSPWN since 2007, and serving as Secretary and Spirit chair since 2013. She has lived in the DC area since July 2004 and is an Outdoor Recreation Planner with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). She is a runner and an active volunteer in matters related to supporting the Arlington homeless community.
Lauren Piera Jowell - Vice President
Ms. Piera is a 2004 graduate of the Schreyer Honors College, and attended the Behrend campus in Erie, PA. Ms. Piera has been an active member of PSPWN since 2014, but has attended events since 2008. She is currently an International Relations Officer for the U.S. Government promoting accountability in international awards. She is a runner and triathlete, a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, and she loves a good spy thriller book.
Aimee Peterson - Secretary
Ms. Peterson is a 2003 graduate of the Schreyer Honors College and attended the Behrend campus. She has been an active member of PSPWN since 2014. She has lived in the DC area since August 2003 and serves as a Senior Director of Performance Technology at the Advisory Board Company. She is actively involved with volunteering at Community of Hope; a nonprofit serving homeless and low-income DC area neighbors with transitional housing, social services and healthcare.
Jill Zimmerman - Treasurer
Ms. Zimmerman is a 1992 graduate of the School of Education. Ms. Zimmerman has been an active member of PSPWN since 2002, and has served in a variety of roles. She has lived in the DC area since 1995 and currently resides in Haymarket, VA. Ms. Zimmerman is the Director of Training and Development at Zenetex, LLC. She is actively involved in volunteering with a variety of local charitable organizations and enjoys the beach, reading and spending time with her husband and two rescue dogs.
Nina Wertan - Communications Chair
Ms. Wertan is a 2011 graduate of the College of Agricultural Sciences with a Bachelors of Animal Science. Ms. Wertan also has a Master’s of Public Administration and Policy from American University. She has been an active member of PSPWN since 2016. Ms. Wertan has been in the DC Metro area since 2013 and is a program associate for The Humane Society of the United States. She is involved with efforts and events of Mercy International, especially their focus on women’s issues.
Andrea Timashenka - Membership Co-Chair
Ms. Timashenka is a 2004 graduate of the College of Health and Human Development. She graduated with honors and highest distinction while earning a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies. Ms. Timashenka has been an active member of PSPWN since 2012. She is an attorney and currently works in the Office of the General Counsel for the US Department of Health and Human Services.
Katie Ritter - Membership Co-Chair
Ms. Ritter is a 2011 Recreation, Park & Tourism Management graduate. She is excited to be a new member of the PSPWN! She has lived in Arlington since 2011. Ms. Ritter is a licensed real estate agent in VA and is the Lead Agent of the FASS Results Group of Frankly Realtors. She currently lives in the Ballston neighborhood with her fiance and bulldog "Barkley," and you can find them wearing navy and white on Saturdays in the fall.

Kat Staargaard - Professional Development Co-Chair
Ms. Staargaard is a 2011 graduate of the Smeal College of Business with a degree in Management, and has been a member of PSPWN since 2013. She has lived in the DC area since graduation, and currently works at Navigant Consulting as a Recruiting Manager. She volunteers with a local animal shelter, and spends her free time whipping up desserts and cheering on the Philadelphia Flyers.
Alexandra "Alley" LaMont - Penn State Pride/ Spirit Chair
Ms. LaMont is a 2015 graduate of the College of Health & Human Development with a degree in Biobehavioral Health and a minor in Kinesiology. During her time at Penn State she was involved with the Panhellenic Board, UPUA Student Government, and Women's Leadership Initiative. She currently works at the Advisory Board Company. As a board member she hopes to focus on community development and women's empowerment initiatives. In her spare time she enjoys crafting, reading home magazines, and antique shopping.
